Meet the founders of WKND. With decades of experience in retail, restaurants, and event hosting, they are passionate about creating unforgettable experiences.
In 2020, Brian had to close his Escape room in Oakland due to the pandemic. Determined to get back outside and make a difference, both founders joined forces to launch WKND FLEA MRKT in the Stockton/Sacramento area. They focused on promoting the community through Tees/Apparel and experienced early success.
However, they soon realized the challenges of being vendors themselves. It was difficult to find verified events in the city, and organizing events with verified vendors was equally challenging. They had to rely on word of mouth and juggle between various platforms and tools not designed for their specific needs. The only support they found was from the amazing vendor community they met in person.
Determined to find a better solution, they decided to ask other vendors and organizers about their experiences. The result was eye-opening: there were no tools or software designed to help passionate vendors and organizers succeed in their ventures. New vendors struggled to learn the ropes, while experienced ones felt limited by pen and paper. Even the tech-savvy ones wasted time switching between multiple apps.
They knew there had to be a better way.
And so, in 2021, WKND was born.
